At Heartfelt Rides, we specialize in van and minivan donations that make a real difference in Birmingham. Whether it’s a family minivan packed with memories or a cargo van that’s seen better days, we’re here to help. Your donation directly supports local families, community organizations, and churches that rely on reliable transportation to thrive.
Located near the iconic Red Mountain and bustling neighborhoods like Avondale, we know the unique transportation needs of our city. Vans are among our most-requested vehicles, so if you're thinking of donating, you’re in good company. Running or not, your vehicle can help carry forward our mission. Plus, we’ll handle all the logistics, making the process as smooth as a Sunday drive down Lakeshore Parkway.

- Cargo Vans (great for work or organization use, condition varies)
- Passenger Vans (perfect for church groups or shuttles, any age)
- Conversion Vans (adapted for special needs, condition flexible)

Condition & logistics
Running vs. Not Running
We accept both running and non-running vans. If your vehicle has seen better days but still has life in it, we can work with you to make sure it’s put to good use.
Title Issues
If your van has title issues, don’t fret! We can help you navigate through the necessary paperwork to ensure your donation is processed correctly.
Storage and Pickup Logistics
We understand that space can be tight! If your van is parked in a spot that's hard to access, just let us know. We offer free pickups throughout the Birmingham area to make this process easier for you.
Title transfer & paperwork
In Alabama, transferring the title of your van or minivan is straightforward. You'll need to complete the Alabama DMV Form MV 1, which requires your signature, along with the buyer’s information (that’s us!). If your title is lost or damaged, we can guide you through obtaining a duplicate. Remember to return the license plates to the DMV—it's a quick step that keeps everything above board. Notarization isn’t usually required for private transfers in Alabama, but we’ll ensure you have all necessary forms and info.
Tax deduction for this donation
Donating your van or minivan can offer a substantial tax deduction, typically between $500 and the full sale price if sold for more. You'll receive IRS Form 1098-C, which details your vehicle's value for your tax return. It's a win-win situation—you get to help others while potentially lowering your tax burden!
Local context — Birmingham
Birmingham’s unique blend of culture and community often leads to van donations. Many families in our city are downsizing, relocating to new neighborhoods like Homewood, or simply looking to change their vehicle situation after life events like divorce. Vans play a crucial role in our community—whether it’s transporting kids to soccer practice at the local fields or shuttling mission groups around town. With our growing population and active lifestyles, the demand for vans remains high.
